Matters #poetry #posttrauma

Cluttered the mind,

My thoughts are in shambles,

Like an egg in a pan,

It’s been wrecked,

It’s been scrambled.

I pick through the mess,

Is there nothing to salvage?

I’m lost in my head,

Disconnected,

What else matters?

  1. A scrambled egg is a good analogy to confused thoughts. But never let yourself get so far scrambled that you can’t get back; have a person, a thought, a poem or book, or a prayer that grounds you until you can reorient yourself.
