Witches Brew #haiku #poetry #prompt

A poison plucked,
Cooked and cooled, before it can,
Be served to you.

I’m back!!!  It’s been a couple weeks since I posted my weekly(ish) haiku prompt, and for that I apologize. I’d give some lame excuse but lets face it, it is MY blog after all so I’ll do what I want with it. I don’t owe any explanations 😉

Here’s how it works:

Every week(ish) I post a new Haiku prompt and pin it at the top of the home page of this blog. Anyone who writes a Haiku with the prompt used is encouraged to link back to my post and comment. I’ll share your poems on my next prompt post!

EASY PEESY!!I look forward to reading anyone who’s up for writing ‘Witches Brew’ Haiku Challenge poems for the week! Thanks in advance for joining! Please comment on this post with your links so that I can share them.

  1. Haiku for Witches and Potions

    Harvest Moon above
    coven gathering below
    stirring up trouble

    wolvesbane eye of newt
    bat’s wing lizard’s tail frog’s tongue
    stir slowly until cooked

    Halloween witch’s
    classic image is pure myth
    not so obvious

    cauldron boil and roil
    mystic incantations spoken
    mysteries revealed

    familiar black cat
    crawled alongside purring
    what secrets it knows

I came looking because you hadn’t sent me any prompts since re-blogging my Haiku for Summer. So here I am and here are my haiku for Witches Brew. Meantime, over at http://thepeacefulpub.com/ I put up Haiku for Rainbows sometime back, and Haiku for Autumn just today.

  2. Thank you. By the way, on an old episode of “The Rifleman” Lucas McCain and another character (the guest star on that episode) used “witches brew” as a code word meaning that there was trouble.

      1. It really is! I have an autistic 7 year old and a very strong willed 4 year old. Time is of the essence. I wish I had a little more blogging time, but sadly I dont. On the other hand, it’s totally fine. I wouldnt trade a second of my mommy time for the world 😏😍
